Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune Campus

Hon'ble Dr. Patangrao Kadam established Bharati Vidyapeeth in 1964 at Pune. The mission, which Bharati Vidyapeeth has defined for itself is to bring about intellectual awakening of people through the spread of education and to prepare human resources needed for all-round development, particularly economy of the country.

Bharati Vidyapeeth, the parent body of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University is one of the largest leading educational organizations in India having under its umbrella more than 140 educational units of various kinds.

Established in 1964, by Dr. Patangrao Kadam, with an objective to providing education which can offer to bring about the social transformation, so very aptly coined "Social Transformation through Dynamic Education" as the official motto of Bharati Vidyapeeth, it is one of the leading national level educational organizations.

Since Bharati Vidyapeeth is committed not only to the dissemination of knowledge but to generate new knowledge, it has established quite a few research institutes in the areas of Medicine and Related Sciences, Information Technology and Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Science and Applied Chemistry, Environment Science and Social Sciences.

Bharati Vidyapeeth has its campuses in New Delhi, the capital of India and at Pune, Navi Mumbai, Karad, Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur, Jawahar and at a few other places in Maharastra.

Accommodation is one of the aspects that a student must follow up before his/her arrival. Hostel facility is available at Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University-Amplify DITM, which could be provided depending on its availability.

There are 5 girls' hostels, which accommodates about 1000 inmates. There is also 1 boys' hostel, which accommodates about 300 boys. All these hostels are nearby campus, provided with all the necessary amenities and facilities. Each hostel has its own mess. Besides there are several cafeterias around the campus catering to the needs of students.

In case, if student opts to rent a flat, then each accommodation provider or agent is a little different in his/her requirements. Rent and deposits also are different depending on various factors like locality, kind of housing and services etc. Some students may choose to stay as a paying guest which is advertised in local newspapers.

The rules of the University are same for students living on-campus or off-campus.

Campus Rules

  • Students should be regular & punctual in attending classes, tutorials and submissions of the term-work in various subjects. Terms shall not be granted and a student shall not be certified for examination if his/her progress, conduct, and attendance are not satisfactory.
  • Students, if found indulging in anti-national activities contrary to the provisions of the Acts & Laws enforced by Government will be liable to be expelled from the college without any notice by the Director Academics of the College.
  • Ragging of students in any form within or outside the College and Hostel is strictly prohibited. Defaulters will be strictly dealt with as per Govt. instructions in this matter.
  • Smoking, drinking (alcohol) and use of drugs is strictly prohibited in the premises of the College and Hostel.
  • Bicycles, scooters, and vehicles should be parked only in area provided for the purpose. The institute accepts no responsibility for their safe custody. Vehicle lodged elsewhere may be confiscated.
  • Any changes in the address and contact numbers of the students / parent must be intimated by him/her in writing to the college office immediately.
  • A student must carry identity card signed by the Director Academics and produce the same whenever asked by the College Authorities. Without Identity Card, students will not be allowed to enter the college premises and will be strictly dealt with.
  • A student is expected to read the notices put up on the notice board of the College. The College accepts no responsibility for loss of any advantage to a student due to his/her failure to read the notice on time.
  • A student is required to maintain minimum 75% attendance averaged through out the semester without which the institution reserves the right to debar from current year / cancel candidature of the student / debar from the semester examination. In case, a student requires to remain absent for some reason, he/she will be required to take the prior permission of the Director Academics.
  • If any of the statement made in the application form or any information supplied by the student in connection with his/her admission is later on, at any time, found to be false or incorrect, his/her admission will be cancelled, fees forfeited and he/she will be expelled from the college by the Director Academics and prosecuted by Govt, if deemed necessary.
  • A student shall not go to the Press or any other publicity media without permission of the Director Academics.
  • Any damage to the college property, furniture, equipment, library books, building, etc., must be compensated immediately by the students.
  • Students must attend Social & National Events organized by the College such as 26th January, 1st May, 15th August, and all others declared as National celebrations.
  • A student will be bound by the rules & regulations framed by BVDU - Amplify DITM from time to time.
  • No student will be allowed to appear for the program examinations unless he / she has paid all his / her dues and completed his / her practical journals and has kept satisfactory attendance as per the University rules.
  • There are no activities like Annual, Social & General elections.
  • Students are not permitted to carry / operate mobile telephones in the Academic area.
  • No society or association of the students will be started without the written permission of the concerned authorities.
  • BVDU - Amplify DITM reserves the right to prescribe from time to time, any rule(s) of discipline and accordingly, take necessary disciplinary action.

Reach to Campus

By Air:

Pune's airport at Lohegaon is 12 km from the main city centre. Daily flights connect it to Mumbai & Delhi and other cities such as Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. Private cabs, auto rickshaws or city airport shuttle buses will cover the distance from the airport to the city centre.

By Train:

Pune is one of the most important rail junctions in the Central railways zone of Indian Railways. Plenty of trains connect it to major destinations in the south, north and west of the country by mail, express and super fast trains. The Deccan Queen and Shatabdi Express are fast commuter trains from/to Mumbai, with traveling time of three-and-a-half hours approximately.

By Road:

Maharastra state roadways buses and buses operated by private companies connect the different places in the state to Pune as well as destinations in the neighboring states of Karnataka, Goa and Andhra Pradesh. Three bus terminals provide services to the all-important places in the region. The Railway Terminal to destinations in the south Goa, Panchgani, Mahabaleshwar, Belgaum, Kolhapur; Shivaji Nagar Terminal for north and northeast points Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Lonavala, Nashik and the Swargate Terminal for buses bound to Mumbai, Mangalore, Bangalore and Sinhagad. Most people traveling to Pune from Mumbai, Nasik or Aurangabad prefer to do so by road as the distance between Mumbai-Pune is 170 km, Nashik-Pune 209 km and Aurangabad-Pune is 230 km. The roads are well maintained with conveniently located motels and service stations enroute.

Getting Around:

Metered taxis and auto rickshaws ply the city streets; the latter are the most popular mode of transport in Pune as they are economical and fast. Pune Municipal Transport (PMT) buses reach every part of the city and the suburbs from the terminals at Swargate, Deccan Gymkhana, Pune Station, Shivaji Nagar station, M G Bus Stand, Pune Corporation and Saras Baug.
